Barclays Center Brooklyn Tickets

Barclays Center events since 2012

Barclays Center opened on September 28, 2012, as the first building in Brooklyn's Atlantic Yards development. Brooklyn-based Forest City Ratner Companies developed the project, and SHoP Architects and AECOM designed the arena. Its opening is part of the venue's heritage: Brooklyn's own JAY Z launched the building with the first of eight sold-out concerts. In those early years the arena described a program of premier concerts, monthly professional boxing cards, top college basketball, family shows and the Brooklyn Nets, a range that matches its billing as a modern multi-purpose arena.

Home of the Brooklyn Nets

The Nets arrived for 2012-13, which was both the arena's first NBA season and the franchise's first as the Brooklyn Nets. The club's story starts much earlier. It began as the New Jersey Americans in the ABA in 1967-68, became the New York Nets in 1968-69, joined the NBA in 1976-77 and played as the New Jersey Nets from 1977-78 until 2012. The latest arena upgrades were timed to debut before the 2026-27 season, when the Nets marked their 60th anniversary.

The official seating-chart page offers separate layouts for concerts and entertainment, Brooklyn Nets games and New York Liberty games, and notes that charts can vary by event. The chart attached to the specific event is the one to use when weighing sections.

A transformation in progress

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment is working through a five-year transformation of the arena. Phase three, completed in October 2026, reshaped the arrival experience with a reimagined Main Atrium and box office and a new American Express Card Member Entrance and Amex Lounge. It also enhanced the event level club, added significant contemporary art and delivered the first major control room upgrade since the 2012 opening. Those changes join premium spaces the arena has long offered, including luxury suites, clubs and lounges. The upcoming phases are set to focus heavily on the upper concourse, with the stated aim of raising the experience on every level of the building.

Getting to 620 Atlantic Avenue

Barclays Center is adjacent to one of New York's largest transit hubs. The 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q and R trains stop at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr directly below the arena; the G serves Fulton St, two blocks away, and the C stops at Lafayette Av, a station that is not accessible. Long Island Rail Road trains use Atlantic Terminal, across the street in Zone 1, and 11 bus routes stop nearby, including the B41, B63 and B67.
