Dodger Stadium Los Angeles Tickets

A ballpark built in Chavez Ravine

After four seasons at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the Dodgers opened Dodger Stadium on April 10, 1962, against the Cincinnati Reds. Walter O'Malley and architect Emil Praeger designed it after the club's 1958 move to Los Angeles.

The land carries a contested history. Three Mexican neighborhoods, Palo Verde, La Loma and Bishop, were destroyed for a housing project that was later canceled. The city then sold the site to O'Malley, and in 1959 one holdout family, the Aréchigas, was involved in a violent conflict with Los Angeles County sheriffs.

Hillside views and a symmetrical field

From its hillside, the stadium looks south to downtown Los Angeles, with the tree-lined Elysian hills to the north and east and the San Gabriel Mountains beyond. Terraced parking lots sit at the same elevations as the six seating levels. The field measures 330 feet down each line, 385 to left- and right-center and 395 to center, and the outfield fence is just 55 inches high from each foul pole to the bullpens.

Dodger Stadium tickets and the seating plan

• Lexus Baseline Club: seats in front of the Field Level in Sections 26BL–44BL (first base) and 27BL–45BL (third base). They are the widest in the stadium, with in-seat service and a private club.
• Field Level: directly behind the Baseline Club, extending toward both left and right field.
• Loge, Club and Suites levels: grouped together, with approaches from the left- and right-field sides.
• Reserve Level and Top Deck: each approached from its own terraced lots.
• Pavilions: three levels of outfield seating, served by a center-field elevator.

Big moments since 1962

Maury Wills set a single-season record with 104 stolen bases in 1962. The 1963 World Series sweep of the Yankees ended here on October 6, and Sandy Koufax pitched the franchise's only perfect game here, against the Cubs, on September 9, 1965. In 1978 this became the first ballpark to draw more than three million fans in a season.

The stadium has staged World Series games, World Baseball Classic finals, an All-Star Game and an NHL game. Matchups with the San Francisco Giants carry extra history. The rivalry began in New York with a first meeting in 1890, and the clubs' first postseason series came in the 2021 NLDS, won 3–2 by the Dodgers.

Updating a 1962 original

Ahead of the 2023 season, the Dodgers described the stadium as MLB's third-oldest park. They also replaced all field lights with LEDs that can change color for on-field celebrations and concerts. The club now uses the name UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium.

Getting there

The ballpark sits at 1000 Vin Scully Avenue. For Dodger games, the Dodger Express shuttle runs from the Alameda Street side of Union Station to Lot G behind the pavilions. The free South Bay Service links Slauson, Manchester, Harbor Freeway, Rosecrans and Harbor Gateway Transit Center with Lot I.
