Old Trafford seating guide

Old Trafford’s four main stands offer two distinct perspectives: the Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton stands run beside the pitch, while the Stretford End and East Stand sit behind the goals. The north-east and north-west quadrants connect the side and end stands at the corners. Manchester United’s stadium maps show these areas separately, so a quadrant is a different location from a central seat along the touchline.

Sir Alex Ferguson Stand

The north side has three tiers. Lower-tier seats place you nearer pitch level, while the upper tiers give a higher perspective across the playing area. Its three-tier layout makes the tier particularly useful when comparing two offers carrying the same stand name. This side also houses the Manchester Suite and Salford Suite hospitality areas.

Sir Bobby Charlton Stand

Opposite the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, the south stand has a single main seating tier. It runs along the touchline on the side of the players’ dugouts. Named after Sir Bobby Charlton in 2016, it also contains hospitality spaces including the Heritage Club and Sir Bobby Charlton Suites.

Stretford End and East Stand

The Stretford End is the west stand, behind one goal; the East Stand faces it from the other end. Both have two tiers. These locations give an end-on view of the pitch, rather than the side-on perspective of the two touchline stands. The north-west quadrant adjoins the Stretford End, and the north-east quadrant adjoins the East Stand.

Away supporters and hospitality

Visiting supporters enter through turnstiles at the south-east corner, according to Manchester United’s visiting supporters guide. Away admission is a separate allocation from the surrounding home sections.

Old Trafford’s hospitality areas are spread across several parts of the stadium. The club’s Executive Club brochure places the 1968 Suite and Captains’ Lounge in the north-west quadrant, the Manchester Suite in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, and the Heritage Club in the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand. Getting to Old Trafford

Metrolink serves the ground via Old Trafford station, with Wharfside on the Trafford Park line another nearby option. The club’s travel guide gives matchday parking access via Wharfside Way for the E1 and E2 car parks. Roads around the stadium become busy on matchdays, so public transport and parking arrangements are worth settling before travelling.

Manchester United moved to Old Trafford in 1910. The stadium suffered wartime damage and reopened in 1949 after rebuilding. A visit to the Museum & Stadium Tour is a separate experience from watching a match: the club states that normal tour and museum opening does not apply on home matchdays, with separate arrangements for matchday hospitality.
