SAP Center events in San Jose

SAP Center opened on September 7, 1993, with a performance by Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Its ten-storey glass-pyramid entrance and stainless-steel exterior gave the arena a distinctive place in San Jose's skyline. The building became a major sporting and concert venue in Silicon Valley, with the Sharks at the centre of its hockey identity.

Championship nights and live music

The arena staged games in the 2016 Stanley Cup Final. Its sporting history also includes the 1997 NHL All-Star Game, the 1999 NCAA Women's Final Four and U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1996, 2012 and 2018. Gymnastics Olympic Trials came here in 2012 and 2016, bringing another very different competition surface into the same arena.

Musical visitors have included Paul McCartney, Prince and Adele. These past performances sit alongside the building's hockey and championship history; today's event listings provide the separate route to performances currently available on TixChoice.

Hockey and concert seating layouts

SAP Center publishes different maps for Sharks games and concerts. The hockey map opens the full arena. Its standard concert map omits sections 117 through 127 and 217 through 227, suites 13 through 20, and Terrace and Plaza seating. An individual show's configuration can differ from that standard example.

The venue also distinguishes the main concourse from its club-level spaces, including the North Club and South Club. These named areas belong to the arena's layout rather than a universal set of benefits attached to every ticket. More live music options appear on the TixChoice concert page.

Accessible viewing

Wheelchair seating is arranged with an adjacent companion position. The arena also identifies viewing locations for blind and low-vision visitors according to each event's layout. A wheelchair-accessible ramp outside the North Entrance connects with the nearby drop-off area, giving that entrance a specific role in an accessible arrival.

Rail and light-rail connections

San Jose Diridon station is across the street from the arena. Caltrain serves the station, while VTA's Green Line provides a light-rail option. BART passengers can connect with Rapid 500 at Berryessa. ACE also brings trains to Diridon from places including Stockton, Tracy, Livermore and Pleasanton. The arena's address is 525 West Santa Clara Street.
