Spectrum Center Charlotte Tickets

Spectrum Center events in Uptown Charlotte

Spectrum Center opened in October 2005 with a Rolling Stones concert. The home of the Charlotte Hornets has since combined NBA basketball with touring music, family entertainment and major national events, making it one of Uptown Charlotte's principal evening destinations.

The building was called Time Warner Cable Arena from 2008 before taking the Spectrum Center name in 2016. Its event history includes the 2012 Democratic National Convention and the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend, alongside college basketball tournaments and concerts.

A renewed seating bowl and concourses

A two-part renovation was completed in October 2025. The project replaced the bowl's seats, expanded the lower-level seating and renewed the Belk Concourse. New lighting, flooring and wayfinding changed the public circulation areas, while wider corridors and reconfigured entrances improved movement around the building.

The venue also introduced a Belk Light Rail Entrance. The main lobby received a large LED installation, connecting the arrival experience with the wider refurbishment. These changes renewed an existing arena rather than replacing it with a separate building.

The North and South Districts

Two gathering areas sit within the Belk Concourse. The Lunazul North District uses lighter finishes and a contemporary design, while The South District has darker tones and a warmer bar setting. Both are open concourse spaces available to fans, rather than enclosed private suites.

The broader project also introduced First Horizon Theater Boxes, Mini Suites and a Super Suite on the suite level. On the event level, the Inner Circle Club, Bank of America Hardwood Club and HondaJet Courtside Club form distinct premium spaces around the basketball experience.

Basketball and live entertainment

Beyond Hornets games, the arena has hosted ACC and NCAA basketball and the CIAA men's and women's tournaments. Past concert performers include Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Elton John, Prince and U2. Andrea Bocelli brought an opera concert to the building in 2018, while Marc Anthony performed its first Latin concert in 2020.
