Tampa Bay Lightning tickets and the club's beginnings
The Tampa Bay Lightning's NHL franchise dates from December 16, 1991, and the club played its first season in 1992-93.
After outgrowing Expo Hall, the Bolts played three seasons from 1993 at St. Petersburg's Thunderdome, a partitioned baseball dome, while their arena was built.
Championship eras
The Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2004, 2020 and 2021. Between 2011 and 2022 they reached seven conference finals, and they played in the Stanley Cup Final in 2015, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Jeff Vinik's purchase of the club in 2010 began a complete brand and business transformation of the team and its arena. Early in that era, in 2014-15, the Lightning won the Eastern Conference championship before appearing in the 2015 Stanley Cup Final.
Kucherov and the record books
Nikita Kucherov made his NHL debut in November 2013 and scored with his first shot on his first shift, in a 5-0 win over the New York Rangers. Victor Hedman, on that roster, said Kucherov's vision stood out right away.
In October 2026 Kucherov passed Steven Stamkos to become the franchise's career points leader with 1,138 points. The record point was an assist on a Brayden Point power-play goal against the Utah Mammoth. His 405 goals rank second in team history, and Hedman has assisted on 96 of them, more than anyone else.
Point has scored 169 goals set up by Kucherov, the most of any teammate. Point singles out one pass: on June 15, 2021, in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semifinal against the New York Islanders, Kucherov won a race behind the net and slid a no-look pass to Point at the right post for the opening goal.
Home ice: from the Ice Palace to Benchmark International Arena
The downtown Tampa arena opened in 1996 as the Ice Palace, then became the St. Pete Times Forum and Tampa Bay Times Forum. Home crowds there have watched Martin St. Louis, Vincent Lecavalier and Andrei Vasilevskiy.
In September 2014 it became AMALIE Arena through a partnership with the Tampa Bay-based AMALIE Oil Company. Since Vinik's 2010 purchase, a mostly private renovation has transformed the publicly owned building.
On August 13, 2025, the arena became Benchmark International Arena, a change announced on 813 Day at the arena's Alumni Hall. The premium tier was renamed the Benchmark International Club Level, with The Mark as its all-inclusive experience. TixChoice's Amalie Arena page covers the same building under its former name.
Fan spaces upgraded for the 2024-25 season include:
- Ford Thunder Alley, home to Corona Bolts Bay
- The RIPA Rooftop
- Market on Four, a food hall of five local eateries open to every ticket holder
Getting there
The arena sits in downtown Tampa's Water Street neighborhood. In 2019 the arena noted that partners were developing 60 contiguous acres around it, and it shares updated traffic and parking information with guests. When comparing sellers, weigh section location and club-level access.
Tickets currently start from £16.91. The average starting price across listed events is £32.
