United Center Chicago Tickets

United Center history and Chicago Stadium roots

The United Center opened in August 1994 to replace Chicago Stadium, the former home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks. Both teams now play here, and the arena marked its 30th anniversary in the 2024-25 season. It was privately financed by the Wirtz and Reinsdorf families and Bulls partners.

Chicago Stadium also carried political history, hosting the Democratic National Conventions of 1932, 1940 and 1944 and the Republican National Conventions of 1932 and 1944. Its successor was chosen to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

Reading the United Center seating plan

Your ticket decides which of the arena's three numbered levels, clubs and lounges you can reach.

• 100 and 300 Levels: the public concourses, which suite guests can also use.
• 200 Level: the Lexus Club Level, home to the Chicago Stadium Club and reached with 200 Level tickets from Gates 2 and 3 on Madison Street or Gates 6 and 7 on Adams Street.
• Suite levels: Lower, Club and Penthouse suites, served by lobbies with private elevators and stairs beside Gate 2½ on Madison Street and Gate 6½ on Adams Street.
• Specialty clubs: the BMO Club and Michelob Ultra Club, reserved for holders of tickets to those areas.

Depending on the stage configuration, some premium seats can have obstructed views at concerts, as determined by the performers event by event, so check the seating plan for the specific show.

The HOK-designed east addition

The east addition broke ground in spring 2015 and officially opened on March 1, 2017. HOK was lead architect and McHugh Construction general contractor on the privately funded, 190,000-square-foot building, whose modern, transparent design aims to blend the arena's architecture with the surrounding neighborhood.

Its five-story central atrium is a public gathering place where fans can meet before, during and after events, and it is home to the Michael Jordan statue. The addition also houses the United Center Box Office and team retail. Bulls special advisors Horace Grant and Toni Kukoc and Blackhawks ambassador Tony Esposito helped cut the opening ribbon.

A wider West Side campus

The owners' West Side campus also includes The Advocate Center, built in 2014 as the Bulls' practice facility, and Fifth Third Arena, a community ice arena and Blackhawks practice facility added in 2017.

The owners have also unveiled The 1901 Project, an elevated urban design strategy by RIOS. Its first phase, proposed for surface parking lots beside the arena, features a theater-style music hall and an elevated public park of more than 10 acres led by Field Operations. The plan was presented as pending local input and approval.
