Amerant Bank Arena Sunrise Tickets

Amerant Bank Arena events and the Sunrise setting

Amerant Bank Arena is the Florida Panthers’ home at Panther Parkway in Sunrise. Its development began with the search for a new arena after H. Wayne Huizenga obtained the Panthers franchise in 1993. The Sunrise site was selected in June 1996, and a design session followed the next month. Architects Ellerbe Becket then worked to a demanding schedule aimed at having the building ready for the 1998 hockey season.

The original construction brought together the seating bowl, suites and the systems needed for a large indoor sports and entertainment venue. Masonry, plumbing, air conditioning and electrical work progressed alongside the installation of theatre-style cushioned seating. The project’s history reflects an arena planned around the Panthers but also intended to accommodate a broader civic programme, connecting the new hockey home with South Florida’s live-entertainment calendar.

Plaza, Club and Mezzanine seating

The arena’s concert diagram names the main surrounding areas Plaza, Club and Mezzanine. Plaza sections form the lower bowl around the central floor. A Club ring sits above that level, while the Mezzanine occupies the outer upper tier. The hockey plan also marks suites between the seating rings, giving the building several clearly differentiated layers rather than one continuous bank of seats.

The hockey configuration places the rink inside that bowl, with the team benches along one long side and the penalty-box area opposite. For an end-stage concert with reserved floor seating, the stage occupies one end and blocks of chairs fill the space in front. The venue publishes a separate end-stage diagram for a general-admission floor, as well as a basketball layout for the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic. These are different uses of the same central arena floor within its permanent surrounding tiers.

More than the Panthers’ home ice

The building’s sporting history includes the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 and 2015 and the 2003 NHL All-Star Game. College basketball adds another strand through the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic, while youth hockey and graduation ceremonies connect the venue with the wider community.

Concert performers recorded by the arena include Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé. Disney On Ice, Cirque du Soleil and Monster Jam illustrate a further part of the programme, with family entertainment joining hockey and music. That variety has been part of the venue’s role alongside its identity as the Panthers’ home.
