Boston Celtics tickets and a championship lineage
Founded in 1946, the Boston Celtics won their first NBA title in 1957 under coach Red Auerbach. Titles followed every season from 1959 to 1966, then in 1968 and 1969, and Bill Russell won 11 championships with Boston.
Later eras added banners in 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984 and 1986. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen led the 2008 champions, and in 2024 the club became an 18-time NBA champion.
That lineage runs through the names on the club's honours lists. They range from Bob Cousy, Tom Heinsohn and longtime owner Walter Brown to Hall of Famers such as Chuck Cooper and Paul Pierce.
TD Garden, the rebuilt Boston Garden
TD Garden is the Celtics' home court, shared with the Original Six Boston Bruins. TD Garden describes itself as the old Boston Garden reimagined and rebuilt. It opened on 30 September 1995 with a sold-out R.E.M. concert. The arena sits in Boston's West End at the centre of The Hub on Causeway, a mixed-use development built around it.
Championship banners hang from the rafters, and TD Garden calls itself the North American arena with the most of them. It has staged four NBA Finals, in 2008, 2010, 2022 and 2024. It has also hosted three Stanley Cup Finals and the 1996 NHL All-Star Weekend. The Democratic National Convention and NCAA Frozen Fours have also been held here.
The Legendary Transformation
A multi-year renovation known as the Legendary Transformation began in 2017. It added a combined 50,000 square feet across every level. Its centrepiece arrived for the 2021-22 season: Hub Vision, a 4K centre-hung scoreboard from Daktronics. The four main screens nearly doubled in size, and underbelly boards were added for fans sitting closer to the court. Two ring displays circle above them. A new audio system was installed at the same time.
Levels, loge and balcony
TD Garden labels its seating by level rather than by stand. Level 4 is the loge, Level 7 is the balcony and Level 9 reaches the rafters. The Boston Garden Society runs the premium spaces in between:
- Club Seats and the Ford SportsDeck on Level 5, with SportsDeck entry limited to its own ticket holders
- The Cross Insurance Boardroom at the west end of the arena, on Levels 5 and 6
- The Garden View on Level 6, a lounge-style space overlooking the parquet
Live closed captions run on screens above the south-west and north-east corners of the bowl. The Sports Museum on Levels 5 and 6 adds half a mile of New England sports history, including the Bruins' Heritage Hall.
Getting to TD Garden
The arena is at 100 Legends Way and connects with North Station, where the box office sits on Level 1 beside the MBTA passageway. Elevators from the North Station concourse and The Hub on Causeway reach Level 2. Logan International Airport is less than four miles away and accessible by public transport.
