Chicago Bulls Tickets and the Franchise's Early Eras

The Bulls entered the NBA for the 1966-67 season and played at the International Amphitheater. They reached the Playoffs in that first year, and they remain the only expansion franchise to have done so. Johnny "Red" Kerr was named NBA Coach of the Year.

The club struggled at first. By the mid-1970s, though, a side led by Jerry Sloan, Bob Love and Norm Van Lier, with future Hall-of-Famers Artis Gilmore and Chet Walker, was known for smothering defence and toughness. That team won a division title in 1975.

The Jordan Era and Two Three-Peats

Drafting Michael Jordan in 1984 transformed the club. Jordan won five MVP awards and seven straight scoring titles, with Scottie Pippen at his side. With Horace Grant, Bill Cartwright and John Paxson, the Bulls won titles in 1991, 1992 and 1993 at Chicago Stadium. In 1991, Jordan was named both regular-season MVP and Finals MVP.

Dennis Rodman, Toni Kukoc and Ron Harper joined Jordan and Pippen for a second run of titles in 1996, 1997 and 1998, this time at the United Center. The 1996 team won a record 72 games. Jordan retired after the 1998 Finals victory over the Utah Jazz.

Home at the United Center

In 1988, Blackhawks owner William Wirtz and Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf formed a partnership to build a new arena. Construction began in April 1992, and the ribbon was cut on August 18, 1994. The Wirtz and Reinsdorf families and Bulls partners privately financed the building. It replaced Chicago Stadium, the former home of both teams. Chicago Stadium hosted the Democratic National Conventions of 1932, 1940 and 1944 and the Republican conventions of 1932 and 1944.

The East Addition and Jordan Statue

The five-storey, 190,000-square-foot east addition broke ground in spring 2015 and opened in 2017. HOK was the lead architect. Its modern, transparent design is intended to blend the arena with the surrounding neighbourhood. The public atrium has entrances by Gate 3½ and between Gates 4 and 5. It is home to the Michael Jordan statue, the United Center Box Office and a Bulls and Blackhawks team store.

Levels and Club Spaces

The public concourses are on the 100 and 300 Levels. The 200 Level is the Lexus Club Level, which includes The Stadium Club, and you need a ticket identified as a Club Seat to enter it. Executive suites are on the Lower, Club and Penthouse levels. The BMO Club and Michelob Ultra Club admit only holders of tickets for those areas. Premium seating guests enter through Gate 2½ on Madison Street or Gate 6½ on Adams Street. Your ticket type decides which lounges you can use as well as where you sit.

Beyond Basketball

The arena's past events include the 1996 and 2024 Democratic National Conventions, the 2017 NCAA Men's Frozen Four, and historical concerts by The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and U2.

Planning Your Visit

The United Center is at 1901 West Madison Street on Chicago's West Side. The campus also includes The Advocate Center, the Bulls' practice facility, which was built in 2014. The owners have proposed The 1901 Project, which still needs local input and approval. It would add an elevated park and improve walkability, lighting and bike lanes. Arriving early leaves time to visit the east atrium. TixChoice compares ticket sellers, and the seller you choose completes the purchase.

Tickets currently start from £13.62. The average starting price across listed events is £41.
