About Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea Tickets

Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea brings clubs with European title memories to the City Ground. A place along the touchline offers a different perspective from the Trent End or the opposite goal end, so comparing the seat position with its ticket price helps you choose how to experience the fixture.

The clubs share a link through European finals in Munich: Forest first lifted the European Cup there in 1979, while Chelsea won the Champions League in the same city in 2012. Forest’s victory over Malmö came through Trevor Francis’s header, after Brian Clough’s side had eliminated holders Liverpool earlier in the campaign. The Reds then retained the trophy against Hamburg in Madrid in 1980.

Chelsea added another Champions League triumph in 2021. Their honours also include the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1971 and 1998 and Europa League success in 2013. The visitors’ continental history therefore spans several competitions and generations, alongside Forest’s consecutive European Cups.

John Terry’s City Ground loan

Terry spent a short spell on loan at Forest during the 1999/00 season, making six appearances before establishing himself at Chelsea. By the end of the following season he was a regular in the Blues’ side and had been named their Player of the Year. His development gives the fixture a direct connection through one of Chelsea’s best-known defenders.

Forest’s own story began at the Clinton Arms in 1865, when a group of shinney players chose to take up football. Garibaldi red was adopted as the club colour. The City Ground became home in 1898, and later changes included a new main stand after the 1968 fire and the rebuilt Trent End in 1994. City Ground seating guide

Trent End blocks face down the pitch from behind one goal. The opposite end includes a marked lower visiting section, distinct from its upper and corner blocks. Those positions give goal-facing or diagonal angles, rather than the straight side-on view available along the touchlines.

The Brian Clough Stand has upper and lower seating along one side, opposite the main stand. A higher block looks across the field from above, while a lower side position brings the touchline nearer eye level. The block and level help distinguish these choices within a ground developed through different periods of rebuilding.
